Heavenly Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus,
I ask Your forgiveness and repent Lord for ( state the wrong doing or sin ). I have purposed in my heart to actively fight temptation using Your Word so that I do not continue to sin. Father, I know that sin separates us (Romans 3:23) and I want to be close to You. I want to be a person after Your own heart like King David was (Acts 13:22).

Lord Your Word says that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). Help me to better understand the seriousness of sin, and help me to have a pure heart with pure motives. I thank you Father for sending Christ to die for all of my sins, however though His blood has cleansed me from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:7), let me not use this as a deceptive excuse to keep sinning.

I want to show You how much I love You! I want to love You with the love that Jesus spoke of saying: "If you love Me, keep my commandments." (John 14:15) Help me keep Your commandments Lord, and help me to see the way of escape more clearly when temptation is near, for Your Word says that You will provide a way out for me. (1 Corinthians 10:13)
Strengthen me oh God, so that I may keep Your laws and statutes written on my heart. Help me to read Your Word and rely upon Your Word regularly, because it is Your Word that keeps me from sin.

Finally Lord, today I forgive anyone who has offended me in the past. Any wrong doings against me, both great and small, I now forgive this day. I recognize that if I do not forgive others, then neither will You forgive me (Mark 11:25,26). I thank You for Your mercy and I thank You for Your grace Lord.

In the mighty name of Jesus I pray and declare these things,
Amen.
"But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,  that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust." (Matthew 5:44,45)
